ODM Development
You have an idea, a sketch, or a competitor sample. We turn it into a device that can actually be manufactured, tested and shipped.
ODM is the route for a company that has identified a product opportunity but does not yet have a manufacturable design. Most of our development work starts exactly here.
What we need to start
| A sample of something close | The fastest start. The housing, chamber layout and pump tell us most of what we need |
| A sketch or drawing | Enough to establish the form factor and the function |
| A written specification | Chamber count, pressure range, runtime, belt sizes, materials |
| The commercial frame | Target price, target market, and the volume you expect in year one |
A rough idea with some functional requirements is enough to begin. We will tell you what is missing rather than wait for a complete brief.
How development runs
- Design review. We work the idea into something manufacturable and send back a design proposal with the trade-offs named.
- Prototype. A prototype or handmade sample, so the fit, the noise and the pressure behaviour can be judged physically rather than on paper.
- Check — redesign — prototype. This cycle repeats until the samples meet your requirements. Nothing goes to tooling before you approve it.
- Tooling. For a belt pattern unique to your brand, tooling is EUR 2,000 per pattern.
- Production. Minimum 800 pcs for a unique belt design.
What we will not do
We will not copy a protected design. If the product you bring is covered by an active design or utility patent in your target market, we will say so before any tooling is cut — and we will tell you what would need to change to sit outside it.
This is not a legal formality. Tooling is the expensive, irreversible part of a project, and a design that has to be abandoned after the mould is cut is a loss for both sides. We have been on the manufacturing side of patent disputes long enough to prefer raising it at the sketch stage.
Why development is faster here than through a trading company
Design review, tooling, assembly and testing sit in the same plant. That means a revision takes days rather than a shipping cycle, and the person answering your question about the pressure curve is the person who set it.
If you already have a finished design
Then you do not need ODM — OEM is the shorter route. If you have no product ambition beyond buying what already exists, see wholesale.
Questions we are asked about ODM
How much does development cost?
Design work itself is quoted per project, because it depends on how far the idea is from something we already build. The one figure we can state up front is tooling for a unique belt pattern: EUR 2,000 per pattern.
What is the minimum order after development?
800 pcs for a belt in a design unique to your brand. Where the design reuses an existing pattern, the standard OEM minimums apply instead.
Who owns the design?
That is settled in the commercial terms before work starts, not afterwards. Raise it in the first conversation and it will be written down.
Start a development project — send a sketch, a sample or a written specification, and we will come back with a design proposal and what we still need to know.
